Leather can be hard to take care of. Alcantara is pretty good and I'm not too worried about it so much.
I'd say a good quality cloth is probably going to stay looking better longer but it's hard to say. I'm a little paranoid about the leather with weather changes, etc. I hate, hate, hate when leather starts going bad. If you are interested in any options I would probably see about paying for them in cash to keep the payments low. I went back and forth on Premium vs. Limited myself but in the end I thought I'd probably be a fool to pass up some options which I think would increase my enjoyment of the vehicle just for a couple thousand dollars. Oh, and if you're a hockey fan I hope the Flyers get knocked out in the first round. I think it's going to be Pittsburgh's toughest series though. :P |

Is the Nissan Z even the same thing? I thought they were heavy cars. If I just wanted heavy and fast, I would buy a Mustang. I want nimble Porsche like handling. Like my 2006 Civic Si was only better plus RWD
![]() I've learned with my old SI that the handling trumps the HP. And honestly, until I see gas usage on the BRZ STI, I can't say that would be better. Alternatively, I think this BRZ engine can be upgraded easy with cold air intakes and exhaust upgrades, as they said it was designed with more headroom than it uses. They said it could have as much as 250 HP with a few tweaks, turboed to 275ish even. Just not sure what it would do for the gas. |

It always irks me a bit when people mention expectations of getting the car for less than MSRP because I think they underestimate demand for it. There might be a little wiggle room but I think while there's no stock these cars are going to disappear really quick even at MSRP. I know myself I'd be willing to travel hours (probably even a short flight to the next province over) if it meant getting my hands on this car so considering the population density of where you live I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to sell the car at full price if you weren't willing to pay it.
That's neither here nor there though. :P I'm the kind of person who has no problem making sacrifices for the things I want. I could definitely see myself eating PB&J sandwiches for practically every meal between now and when I get the car if it would be the only means I would feel comfortable in purchasing it. As long as you're not stretching yourself too thin I don't think you'll regret making the purchase at all. Especially when your ass is all warm and toasty on a cool Pennsylvania night. :P |

I would eat a thousand PJ sandwiches a day for this car. No issues there. Just logistics. I have X amount of time, and X amount of dollars I can make. Not trying to rob the dealer. I doubt he will come down and I certainly don't expect a better price. I never asked for Invoice, I only made sure I got MSRP.
My "in demand" 2006 Civic Si was 2 grand more, I thought it was the best I could do, so I bought it, but then that same week in another town down it was MSRP. Guess how stupid I felt. So I've learned that paying extra is complete BS, no matter how hot the car is. There is always a dealer who will do MSRP. While perhaps this car is a bit more in demand than my SI was, there are already quotes of upping production. By next year, I expect production to catch up with demand. But that is just a guess. Depends really. My impression is that cars like this are never discounted, they don't have massive production runs and overstock, so its pretty even with production and demand. But they will catch up to the massive demand, they like making money. Last edited by NeoDiNardo; 04-06-2012 at 08:05 AM. |

And I purposely drove 45 minutes away from philly to get a better down to earth dealer who would do MSRP without a fight. It worked. A warm butt would be nice, but I want to leave PA! So I guess I'm taking my BRZed Warmed Butt somewhere else eventually!

If you were buying a FI model, you're not expecting good MPG anyways, you know what you're getting into. Though it probably wouldn't be pretty, as the way it sits now it's MPG ratings aren't that great at all for 200hp and 151tq. They can't expect to compete with this car in the 30k range unless it's around 300hp, which is still less than it's competition, but it's weight should make up the difference. |

There will definitely be deals to be had. I just don't imagine it'll happen in 2012 with maybe very few exceptions (feel like going to Kansas to buy a car?

Your fucked, sales manager is such a arrogant prick. Good luck with that! I got mine from the Lakeland Tampa dealership. First one on the list, and I was the only one who got to choose my options as far as color and trim model. They also promised no more than msrp.

After pondering, I'm set for the BRZ Limited, go big or go home. And if I can't afford it, I will just save longer and get it later or even a 2013/2014 redesigned WRX or a BRZ STI. When you look at it like that, you can't make a wrong choice, its just a matter of time. Either way, I will have a WR Blue Pearl Subaru badged car in my possession!
I'd buy a 2012 WRX Hatch, but the gas mileage is too low for me at 18 City / 25 Hwy, and the redesign is too close. I'm hoping for better gas than the outgoing model, or at least a better something. Plus the WRX shifter is not as good as the BRZ shifter. One less thing to upgrade. Last edited by NeoDiNardo; 04-06-2012 at 09:14 AM. |
