I'm looking for a fun daily driver....until I can compare actual costs, driveability, look, feel and quality of the overall car...I'm considering the following, FR-S, BRZ, Veloster Turbo, GTI, Mustang, Dodge Dart....but since most of these cars aren't out yet I'm only guessing.....but yeah I get it if your looking specificly at RWD..then that cuts your optioins...for me RWD vs FWD is only one factor in the overall decsion.

Agreed....

But, Toyota and Subaru have saved so much money with the development of this vehicle
From the Engine to the production plant. They could have atleast took a couple dollars off.

You should be jumping for joy. Don't force others who aren't.

I was thinking it would be $23k. I was secretly hoping it would be $22k. I'm kinda bummed it is $24k, but honestly, it is the perfect car for me and I'm buying a $36k Prius v for my wife this spring, so $1k really isn't a drop in the bucket in the long run. My MKV GTI was $26k and it was FWD, didn't look as good, and didn't handle as well.

I'm a bit disappointed with the price. Really wished it'd at least be in the 23k area :/. And I wouldn't dream of getting a GC... That thing's front end is way too busy.

I'm not a hater but I totally agree with you. If it were cheaper, it'd go ricer status quick.

The parts bin from the impreza was used alot in the construction of this car. Yes the engine is new but they are plans to use the engine in later models so even if the BRZ sold only a 100 cars in its entire lifetime the WRX and Imprezas based off this engine will more than make up for development costs.

I don't understand why you care about what others do with their car, with their own money. I don't like riced out vehicles, but it's not my money nor my vehicle.
