However, I maintain that in certain states, a person of any age, can own personal property, such as an automobile. Granted, a person of any age may not be able to register or license or insure a vehicle ...... but they can "own it". For example, when I was age 14, back in Ohio, my grandfather "willed" me his old 1948 Chevrolet. Nope, I couldn't license it, nor could I register it, nor could I insure it, so, I couldn't drive it on the highway. HOWEVER, I drove the hell out of it around the farm .... ![]() humfrz |

man, you kids are getting ripped for insurance haha. Mine is $ 600 / year on the FRS and 600 / year on the Jeep. Full coverage and $ 500 deductible - which is actually 200 thanks to no at-fault accidents.

Under 18 and on parents insurance(which is how Maine requires minors to be) is expensive. My rates went rock bottom when I turned 18 and went on my own insurance, liability only was about $75 a month. Now at 23 I pay bit over $900 a year for full coverage on my BRZ and liability on my impreza.

I agree with this. I think attending school is at privelege and making good grades is something one should do for his/her own good, not just to earn a car as a reward. |

you youngin's are fooling yourselves.
you may be paying the whole car directly from your pocket, but if you still live with your parents, then they are the ones who indirectly bought the car. |
