The coating stole them. That is what ceramic coating does to welds, or makes them look like that They are still under there in a ceramic blanket, I promise

Been having thoughts and just jotting down ideas of my cooling setup, and I'm thinking of doing a liquid/ liquid oil cooler with an upgraded fullbown rad/shroud later on, as summer is brutal where I live @.

Thoughts on liquid to liquid oil cooling options? @Sportsguy83 @jamesm @King Tut @MAPerformance @FullBlown

Air to water setups are great for high boost setups and rear/mid engine cars. Look at www.frozenboost.com if you are a DIYer or want to fab a setup. I've bought a lot of stuff from them on their coupler and AN fittings side. Oh, and piping.

Good group of folks out of Colorado. Nice and central for quick shipping! They also took care of me when some of the fittings I got split on me when trying to fab my lines. Coulda been me, coulda been the fitting/line, but they just took care of it.

I really wanna have less things in my engine bay, as an oilcooler is a hefty piece too.

Cusco makes a ready option but costs a kidney for a simple setup.
Some forum member incorporated a forsters setup , but I don't know how good that will be.

There is a v mount setup that I found a while ago, looks cool but I don't know how functional it is. And it costs a grand :/ #jdmyo

liquid to liquid is nice... gets oil up to temp faster. great if you live in a colder climate. should keep the oil temps even with the water temp, which is always good.

Those CSG garage guys say their track car sees 270 oil temps sometimes. For me I want oil and water temps separate rofl. I don't want these SPAL fans working any harder then they have to.

FWIW, get a high quality oil like Motul 300 that doesn't break down at high temps. Your car will pull timing btw if the oil gets too hot so I don't know if it's really an issue.

Those guys are track junkies they push the car like crazy @CSG David

I doubt im going to track my car, if I do it's going to be a lap or two just to just to have fun
I'm mostly going to drive my car around and take it to the dragstrip.

If I don't have much luck with a liquid to liquid setup I might try to make a small oil/air cooler.

Do you have the full blown cooling setup ( shroud and so on? ) if so how is it

Its good, quality is great. Im using the FBM oil cooler also, standard mishimoto core. Coolant sits at 195 at idle with 95 deg ambient. Oil is a bit hotter at idle maybe 220 max.

Low speed driving my coolant gets up to 215 max but I think its because we havent configured them with the tuning to sync correctly with drivespeed so fighting against the wind. Oil just hovers 200-220.

I have been to a track day yet, but I dont think Ill have any issues.

What works well on the track works well on the street. Safety and reliability equates to sustained performance.

I prefer a more standard air/oil cooler. If they are good enough for BMW, they are good enough for me.

This wait is killing me

Thanks to @FullBlown for sharing info regarding a good drag tire setup

Im really aiming for low 11s

Its either m&h drag radials in the rear 245/45-17 on some rota torques or xxrs ( a pair in the rear only)

Or nt01s 235/40-17 on the stock tires
