Try close to 6 years Joke, I've followed Subaru's development closely since the rumor in late October of 06 back when I was called crazy about it, and Toyota fans say that it doesn't exist, because they were the ones that got the Concept in 09 and Not Subaru. They worked everything using 3d models and used WRX and Legacy Mules till they got their AS1 car in 2010. He's right about the BRZ side of the forum since it's like a Gentlemen club with older members that are usually 25+ in age, married with kids, full of auto experience. Not saying that the FRS side doesn't have knowledgeable people, just alot of those people are at the forum below.
I'm sorry you feel that way, and hope that the members can help you better in the future. Sometimes our answers(the Veterans) might seem very blunt or straight forward. But we are here to help you, all we ask is that you try to search first. Alot of people are working hard to make this a new member friendly place, but you can imagine for someone like me or the admin and mod team who have been here since 09 when we saw that concept to see new threads of people giving up on the car moving on after being on here for a month or repetitive questions that comes up every couple of days. I hope you understand where the older members are coming from on this, and definitely BRZ. At first I was alittle in between due to some financial hesitation, but it's a car I've followed for so many years, I know so much about it, and it just hit me that if I don't get this car that I've been following for so long I've let myself down. So BRZ for me.

^Zaku is definitely the man on the BRZ side. I think a lot of the hostility is due to the impatience some of the older members have with the same threads being posted over and over again. But lately it seems the trolls have reached an all time high as well. Join the darkside by coming to the friendly BRZ forum
There's a buffet and kegs over there lol Welcome to the forum though!

This all sounds very tempting. Once all the details are released in 30 days or so as everyone expects I will make my decision based on the MSRP difference. I have a number in my head where if the difference is not great I may opt for the BRZ just b/c I know I will be kicking in an additional $1-2k for the better Pioneer radio or Nav from Scion. If I do leave the Ultramarine FR-S it will be for a World Rally Blue BRZ!

FRS because I could care less about the interior, it's about the driving experience.
Also the FRS is cheaper. ( I'm still in HS, so not much money) Also some insurance companies recongnize that Scion is a "Youngster" brand (Cheaper Insurance) |

Well from what I've gathered from friends and family members who drives Scion TC's and XB's.
They said they're insurance is fairly inexpensive. But you're right, it's certain to change when a teenager is driving a RWD Sports Car. |

youngster brand doesn't equal cheaper insurance for most, if not all. It wasn't until i hit mid-twenties with a long clear record that my rates got low.I want the FR-S, I like the styling of it a bit more and the cheaper the better. I couldn't care less what someone else thought about me driving a scion and i am much closer to 30 then 20, lol. I have great friends much older who love their scions and have a great time modifying then hell out of them more then me, and seeing as i already have 2 that I have no complaints about, why not start up a collection? plus toyota/scion gives you a repeat customer discount haha! I have driven a car with all the bells/whistles, push start, HIDs, auto climate control, proximity keys are all unnecessary, IMO. If it was terribly needed then it would be included. It was neat at first and when i didn't have it anymore, i didn't miss any of it. Granted I want one of the Release Series that Scion will come out with and there is an excellent argument that I don't need any of that. They are normally a great deal for the additions you get and you won't see many of them around, If I don't like it I will just get a regular one. This is all assuming the msrp will be below $24k, much higher and i will not bother and go ahead with a Camaro SS, lol. (I bet I am the only one in the world that has these 2 cars going up against each other their my mind, HA!)

I prefer the front end styling of the FRS, I will buy it and spend the money on suspension, brakes , tires , wheels and a high end sound system/nav unit. Like the TRD rear lip spoiler too .
