UPDATE

Well fuck...so the first cop gave me the wrong idea, he told me they were "dealing with a drunk driver, so you can sit tight" it being right behind the car that hit me, you'd assume he was apart of the accident. Well my dad called for a police report and apparently he wasn't.. They never made a police report for it so for my case he never existed. We included to my insurance company that a drunk driver was involved as well. Not directly involved with my vehicle but the one behind mine. Since I was in the car waiting I only noticed from my peripheral his car being towed but never looked to see if there was damage, either way I'm assuming my word wouldn't matter much if it was a crooked cop deal.. How fucked am I?

**its great too because my dad is now pissed that I "made" him tell the insurance company that, when in reality I never told him I was 100% only that I knew there was a fourth vehicle, it was a DUI and he had been towed. Yay.

10 series #2,088 is down..

Fishy.. Did the cop on scene not give you any type of reference number (of the report he/she would be filing) for the accident for you to give to insurance company?

Even if a drunk driver ended up not being involved, there should at least be a report from the officer describing the scene and who is at fault.

From my accident, I was given a reference number for the accident. I then had to visit a police vehicle/road accidents office and sign off on the report, my statement, and pictures that were taken. The other involved party had to do the same.

He hardly talked to me. I think the kids said that we all couldn't stop so it was treated as a fender bender.

Hi Missy .....

Something doesn't seem right.

As I understand the situation, there were 4 vehicles involved. The car in front of you, your car, a vehicle behind you (that hit your car's rear end) and a vehicle behind that vehicle driven by an impared driver. Do I have it correct?

Questions:

* was the vehicle in front of you stopped or moving when you hit it?

* were you moving when you contacted the vehicle in front of you, or was your car stopped and pushed into the car in front of you?

* what police department responded to the accident or was it the state patrol?

If you don't want to talk about it .... that's OK.

Yes the fourth is unknown if it hit the third though..

Car one was stopped if not creeping as we were trying to merge onto another highway.

I had stopped not super abruptly but not a smooth roll to a stop. Stopped none the less.

Not sure who, can't remember but it was in Renton.

Well, @Missy, if the car's title is in your dad's name (or your moms name), I'd suggest you let your dad and the insurance representative deal with it. It's what dads do best....

Just take care of yourself, so you can get back to work.

You will be re-united with your car soon....

I walked all around my car and saw the one infront of me and the small amount of damage her had then saw the front of the guy that hit my but being on the side of the freeway and me being dizzy with a massive headache I was kinda worried about walking too far from my car. It was my first accident so I was pretty shaken up.

@humfrz it's in mine and my fathers name, he's pretty much doing it all for me. He won't even let me work. Lol

Another little update, the car is going to be fixed! Sucky part? They're busy so they won't start till Monday.. Had my damn insurance company gotten it to the LAST Monday... I'd have my car sooner-ish.

@humfrz welp, so far $10,000 in damages and they're still looking AND insisting there's zero frame damage. They haven't gotten back to us for a while though so I'm sure she's just sitting there all naked and alone.

WOW - that seems like a lot ..... but, everything seems to cost a lot to me anymore.

I'm sure they are taking their time so as to do a good job...

Since it's getting colder, maybe you had better go up and put a light bulb under the hood and cover it with a blanket.

Just kidding, ...... lets hear it from the old codgers from a cold climate who knows what I'm talk-en about .... ya, all three of you.....

Be patient @Missy. Are you feeling OK? Are you back to work?
