I'm anticipating that the FR-S is a vastly more direct, responsive and communicative car. But I've owned 4 (I can't count in the morning...)Mk3 Supras, 2 turbos, 1 twin turbo and an NA that was supposed to get a 2JZ swap that never happened. The Mk3 is roughly GenCoupe weight and wel,l turbos are nice. This all leads to the fact that I was very interested in the GenCoupe when it released, but the reviews were meh, and then I found out about this car. So if they un-meh the negative parts, it is still a type of car that I can enjoy. That being said, my first car was a '92 SOHC VTEC Civic Si hatch. Bone stock except for 15" alloy rims. And the car was an absolute blast. The motor's response was awesome, only the short-stroke twin ceramic turbo 1JZ comes anywhere close (but it did have over 2X the power). So I can imagine a cross between a Mk3 Supra (RWD, wheelbase is close) and a Civic Si is what the FR-S may end up being. So emotional response to drive. Then to salesman. Over $500? Hard to say still. Argh, I need a test drive...

Car and driver is estimating the FRS to retail in the US for $26k. This meaning, for me this'll be a tough choice. My girl already called the FRS "Cute", which shot a chill down my spine.

[QUOTE=SUB-FT86;135167]You always make it seem like I favor cars over the FR-S but what you don't understand is that unlike you I pledge no allegiance to no brand. I know you love Toyota and think everything they do is perfect and that's why me and you always got off on the wrong foot. QUOTE]
If an intelligent debate is what you really want you should really stop calliung everyone that disagrees with you a fanboy since it completely makes any arguement its a trolling rant I am saying this not as an attack but an observation as I have seen you pull the "you are a fanboy" card numerous times. Like SVTSHC mention there needs to be someone on the other side for a debate to occur so I don't think it is fair that you can play devils advocate, play the victim of the "gc hate" and then try and degrade other by calling them fanboys.

Has anyone else noticed that this is one of the more popular threads on the site? There's something to be said for that.

Not sure if people have seen this:
http://shows.autospies.com/gallery/2...upe-392/page1/ http://www.autospies.com/news/NEW-Pi...-Cruise-69161/ Many new pictures of the Genesis coupe. This is the GT version, without the 19 inch wheels, brembos, etc ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The front is still iffy, and prefer the 19s over these 18s. ![]() ![]() ![]() 36.5 mpg wtf? lol |

Aw crap, it's SO pretty except for that crap on the front...
![]() And 36.5mpg is hardly surprising, that is a beautifully long 6th gear to be barely above 2200 rpm at 75. I'd say that's actually pretty crappy for that sort of gearing if it's a 2L, probably because of the turbo. I think Hyundai is using 8 speed auto on this? Toyota could use a lesson in maximizing fuel economy with good gear ratios. |

It's really a shame the GC is a butterface. Otherwise, a good car on paper.

+1. That whole front end is a total train wreck. If they had done something different, could have been a real winner.
