Should have taken a pic before I installed it but I trimmed the 2.5" mandrel bent front pipe and welded on the flanges and mounting bracket. Fits like a dream, 100% 304 Stainless 100% American made

@wulfgang what you see in the background is actually my e46 328i track car, has M3 wheels at the moment. I do also have a e46 Dinan M3.

Current state of the 328 track day build,

Dinan M3, I love this picture. This has been doing track duties for a while but the 328 will take that over.

What material did you use to fab the exhaust manifold? Really nice fab work!

Manifold is 1/2 304 flanges, billet 304 CNC merge, and 0.065 304 runners. I've never made a 0.065 manifold before but I figured if try with this car given how large this manifold is. I may still build some sort of turbo brace to help support the weight of the turbo.

Turbo should NEVER be supported by the header, especially one with .065" tubing. Definitely look into fabbing a turbo support before you crack that beautiful header.

Yeah I'm waiting to get the charge piping in so I can see what will fit. There aren't to many mounting location I like off the engine side. I'm curious how much heat will be transmitted through the bracket. A bracket could piggy back off a pulley mounting bolt but I don't want to cook the bearing. Right now its looking like a 2 part bracket using the AC compressor mounting bolts, is my best option.

FedEx man was late today so I got some time to play with a turbo support bracket, here is on the ties into the AC compressor mounting bolts.

I would think material that thin (the runners) will have problems with heat stress from the turbo. Why did you not opt to use thicker piping such as a Schedule 10 or thicker piping over thinner tubing?
