Morimoto retro kit worth it??

Hey guys, im shopping for HID conversion kit... Just not so sure if i should go with a standard type HID conversion or go with the Morimoto retro fit. Trying to find side by side comparison pics if anyone that has the Morimoto's and have tried the stantard HID what is the major differences between two in terms of performance?

Thanks guys!

Bulbs and ballast are not in the same category IMO.. BUT, my old DDM tuning kits look just as good as my new morimoto kits.. Difference is now that the ballast from DDM tuning went out in my moms car, we are having the hardest time getting it warranty.. Call TRS and it's handled.. Also morimoto is just a better name and better quality

HIDplanet.com have comparisons side by side of morimoto and others even OEM to see how they stack up as far as ballast and bulbs

I have the Morimoto retro kit and it is brighter and clearer than OEM with HID (which I had before)

Dumb question.... do you have to re-aim/level you head lights after installing the morimoto retro fit kit?

Yes they are worth it! Just a overall better projector and light output then stock plus high and low beam both in the projector. You will have to adjust your headlights using the stock adjustment screws.

I purchased my kit from theretrofitsource.com. The kit is very well constructed and the lighting output is very bright! well worth the money. The reason these kits are more money than your average kit is due to the harness kit they give you with the relays. The bulbs and ballasts that are used are more quality than most of these eBay and cheap chinese kits. Your paying for quality something that is going to last. The people over at the retrofit source are one of a kind with the customer service that you get. I also purchased the Black series clear lenses as upgrades. The light output is amazing.

depends on how you do the install. I removed my headlamps from the car for that OEM hidden look.

My daughter has the MoriMoto retrofit kit and it is significantly brighter and much clearer with a safe for on coming traffic cutoff than the OEM with an HID plug in kit which was my first effort. The amount of fragging/abuse I received with my OEM hid posts was predictable for such a group of enthusiasts on this forum. Do it once and do it right.

biggest difference is having the high beam come from your projector. I'm very happy with my morimoto retroquick kit.

This allowed me to replace the stock high beam bulb with led drl in superwhite, no more yellow light during the day.
