I am very interested in overall DD improvements possible with tuning. Idle, throttle response, MPG... A few extra ponies on the top end of a graph are nice, but a precise and responsive machine is a treat the other 95% of my driving.

Yes, all baseline tunes will have the factory mapping updates applied.

This is great for who wants to upgrade and fixes DI Seal issues. (if already damaged then need to replace it)

One thing that I've learned about Shiv@vishnu is that he spends most of the time tuning the car for drivability since he himself is a driver. The dyno part of things, while important, is almost secondary.

We don't have a store front ourselves but I'm sure Vishnu Tuning can provide pick-up service for local customers. Email them (sales@vishnutuning.com) for more info. They have all of our stock at the moment anyway

Does this product have the ability to toggle individual trouble codes?

If I wanted to permanently disable a faulty cam sensor code, is this possible?

How soon will you guys have full CANBUS sniffing?

Is there any possibility of changing CAN values?

Yes, individual trouble codes can be permanently disabled. Canbus sniffing is still a little while away so no eta on that just yet. No can data modifier function is planned at this time but anything is possible if there is enough reason for it.

Out of all the features available on ECUtek, I really liked the auto-blip for track use. This is the one feature I'd like to see over any other....

Shiv has been around a long time. No fly-by-night BS. I'm happy to see him tuning. When I go FI, I'll definitely talk to him.

Hello,
We've been busy making last minute pre-release updates to firmware and XDF files so I'll make this short and sweet. Vishnu Tuning has updated their website with the FR-S/BRZ/GT86 OpenFlash Tablet so you can order from THERE. They will be receiving the first shipment of units on Friday so they should start shipping out that same day.

Video instructions will be online within the next couple of days and I will create a new thread at that time.

Currently we will only be "officially" supporting US market 6MT cars. 6AT support will come shortly thereafter. And then non-US market support shortly thereafter. If you have a non-US market car and want the Tablet now, you can certainly install it, read your ROM and email it to us. Within a few days we should have enough of it defined to provide Stage 1 and Stage 0 tuned files. But it could take take several days if the ROM is considerably different than what we have seen so far.

For the first batch of orders, we are going to be a little more "hands-on" just to ensure that we properly support each ROM type. So when you get the Tablet, all you will do is:

1) Plug Tablet into your OBD2 port and read the ECU (takes 2 minutes)
2) Disconnect Tablet from car and plug into your laptop (via supplied USB cable).
3) Download your ECU file from your Tablet and email to us (email address will be provided in the supplied documentation).
4) Within 24hrs, we will provide you with baseline maps for you ECU type. At this time, this will be limited to Stage 1 and Stage 2. Stg1 is for a car with stock exhaust components. Stg2 is for a car with modified exhaust components. Maps for E85, race gas and boost applications will come in the following weeks.

You will also be provided with a download link for the Tuning Software which will allow you (or anyone else) to make unlimited tuning changes. But I suspect most users, unfamiliar with tuning, will probably just play around with simple things with launch control/Flat-foot shift RPM settings and Rev limit smoothing. But the ability to change any value in any defined map is there which should make any tuner very happy. Data-logging and on-screen data viewing will be enabled by the end of month as well. So those who want to get serious with tuning can either use another datalogging tool or wait until that feature is enabled in the OpenFlash Tablet. Datalogging is not going to be necessary for using the off-the-shelf Stage 1/2 maps as they are reasonably conservative.

That's it for now. Video and map editing instructions will come next.

Have a great night!

bumping this post for the people getting their unit today.

edit: Looks like I gotta wait for the site to be updated so I can get the Openflash User software.
