And no I don't have any problem, I'm just finding the irony of everything very entertaining. Yeah S2000 was the same way, the new current Push Start doesn't require a key. Just a push of a button to start and that key thing to be nearby.

Pretty sure its keyless start/stop. Keep the fob in your pocket. Not a selling point for me, I can turn a key to start my car and not care, all 5 seconds of inserting key and twisting it. I will live.

After looking at www.scion.com site it seems your Scions has no trim levels. There's no base, mid or top of the line, the only way to change a Scion is by accessories (similar to Mini). I would think these accessories would be installed at the dealer and not the factory. Personally I would rather have it that way so I can can get the car the way I want it. I chose the tC at Build Your Scion (nice looking coupe) and my accessories came out to 3,510 dollars. Also, there's accessories that would be easy to install at the dealer but there's some that won't like the Smart key system. Also what's the big deal with a key? It seems having the Smart key is just another thing that could go wrong down the line. Now if they made it like the S2000 where you insert a key and fire it up with press button that would be nice. |

^Like yourself I have no experience with Scion and would be hesitant if they offered a supercharger option and it is dealer installed and your local garage is pants.
The whole first86 is a bit meh, you read their FAQ and there are loads of open questions starting with the actual price and then going on down the list. |

First 86 read the faqs here if ur selected you just won a chance to own a ft86 weeks before everyone else but....but if you dont like the price tag or when you go test drive the car itself you just dont like it youll get the refund of your 500dlls and problem solve plus in the faqs they say u can talk wirh your dealer about options when they make them available so what the problem of signing up?? people saying aww im not signing up bcuz idk the price dont be ignorant your not buying it your just reserving the damn car .......

This system is an RFID system. You never need to touch the keys. The S2000/FD2 system was pointless with the exception of restarting the car on track after a spin. Literally, the only time it saved time.

However, the S2000 system was pointless. It wasn't as bad as the Lotus Elise which used the same basic system but you could actually turn the key to the start position (honda didn't allow that) which made it even more ghettotastic. As I just mentioned above, the only time the S2K system made sense was restarting after a spin on track since you just had to hit the button. Key systems you have to reset (ie turn off, back on, start).

Reading the FAQ, I would say it is not even a guarantee that the 'first 86' will be the first eighty six members of the public to have their cars. |

what if Fr-s release date is in June, then people who buy the BRZ would get the car first... even before the first 86 ,lol that'd be ironic.
