you'd pretty much have to go with android and the adk for something like this. the main difficulty would be that all of the available j2534 passthru cables expose their api through windows dll's exclusively (as far as i know). it's not over serial like an elm327 or similar. it'd be a challenge to make it work with anything other than windows.

Price should be around $450-500. Not sure how competitive that is but it's in line with the amount of extra work needed to adapt our BMW application to work with the twins. And to be clear, you do not need any additional hardware. This device stores the flash files, flashes the ECU, does diagnostics, datalogs, and gives you full access to the unencrypted ROM file.
