i'd also consider taking a gander at the genesis coupe aftermarket - it's noticeably lacking
you can bet your ass that won't be a problem with the subieyota aftermarket scene. |

200 hp stock is enough for this car...also did they not allow the ecu to be unlocked? So we might see easy power gains. |

It ain't a ricer fly-by bro...Its easily noticeable when the other guy is pushing it to avoid letting you pass him, and when he's just babying it and leasiurly gives you the pass-by. It doesn't help it either when they come by afterwards and admit they were trying to keep up, or go faster than you...but end up getting passed anyway. And no, I don't think I can beat every Z06, M3, Cayman S that ran the track...just because I've passed those cars before. It's about driver when comes to the track. So to say a car with X amount of dollars in it is going to automatically beat another car is a little far fetched. |

I'd venture a guess that a FR-S with the same amount of work that your TC has with you driving both.. the FR-S will be faster as well.

I don't have a lot of work. Its all garage off the shelf parts. Running a stock motor with low boost. Quote:
Yet again, that is far fetched. For one I don't have $20k invested if you add the sum of my parts. Nor can you put a number ($20k) as being the magic number that would surpass performance on another completely different car. That's just not how the game is played nor how it works. Plenty of guys I have met, felt they had the faster car...that was until they had no choice but to let me pass since I was not going anywhere. Anyhow, we are off topic, and that was not the point of my prior post. Which had nothing to do with which one will be faster with X amount of dollars in it. |

Yes and just for anyone interested in why that train of thought does not translate to the track...here is a prime example of why. Considered as you would say...equal drivers, similar amounts of time and money invested in said platform, yet the FWD is not getting obliterated (as you would assume it would be based on the cars layout/brand) by the equally $ invested AWD cars. |

How in the hell is the aftermarket going to be better for a N/A, high CR car vs a turbocharged car? Most of you guys have never been on the GC site to see what I see so calm down with the nonsense. The main aftermarket for the FR-S will be body kits, spoilers, rims, intake and a exhaust.

I doubt many will cross-shop GT-86/FR-S/BRZ with the portly Genesis Coupe. The Hyundai Veloster makes for a fairer comparison.

So you think an S2k's aftermarket support is less than that of a GC? What about the Miata? The Scion tC has a large aftermarket support, so your statement is unfounded. |

How many S2K and miatas have aftermarket turbocharged engines? I bet it's less than 5%. Most of those guys do bolt on mods and the GC V6 is in the same boat. The 2.0t have stage upgrades and other stuff available.

I've seen a lot of both either SC or Turbo. I can't say what percentage it is, but I'd guess it's around the same percentage that extensively modify any car.
