People do motor swaps because they don't know how to make power with the stock motor, or they just bought the wrong car.... just sayn.

How in the world would you make it AWD if you put the engine in the back?

If you want something good to put an EJ25T into, look at this:

I dream of this swap, but I think I'd rather have the NA GT3/RS engine.

I've seen plenty of LS1 swapped E39's

May do that to mine if I get a nice paying job... or just rebuild the stock engine and boost it...

If you put the EJ25 with AWD drivetrain into it with the motor in the back you would have to mount it backwards compared to normal, which would give you 1 forward gear and 5 or 6 reverse gears.

No amount of ingenuity will make an engine spin backwards.

It would spin the right way if you also installed it upside down but that would be a disaster having the oil pan on the top of the engine constantly draining into the crankcase.

Pretty sure you can just 'flip' the differentials. I know it's more involved than that makes it sound, but that will reverse the direction of the wheels vs the driveshaft.

You can flip the rear end, but you can't just flip the transmission (which houses the front diff) since it'll only bolt to the engine in one orientation. The only way to get the wheels spinning in the right direction would be to build a custom bell housing so the engine sits right way up with the transmission upside down, but then the shifter will be on the bottom too.

Only engine swap i can see being justified, is a newer motor in an older car that it came with. Or, at least stick with the same manufacturer. In extreme cases, if you have to do a motor swap with a diff brand, then you bought the wrong car/truck.
