I would like to point out that every time the window refused to move, it was because of a problem inside the door (probably around the components of the mechanism), never because of glass sticking to rubber. I spent the last five winters with a NC MX-5 and never did the window stick to rubber so I do not expect anything different with the FR-S.
Same here. Windows were stuck (seems inside the door too has I unstuck the bottom rubber carefully with a scrapper) and wouldn't go down or up so no way to reset them (auto flashing lights). Had to wait couple days for milder weather than reset mechanism work well the 1st time

I just hope they don't freeze like that every day...

Well, twice a day sometimes... If I am lucky enough to be able to reset the system after my short morning ride, they are often stuck again in the evening. I just wonder how much the motors and guides can endure...

I removed the fuse for the driver side window and the window still goes down :/

Thing is, the reset doesn't work for me anymore. What sucks is, I am going to the dealer on January 3rd. I hope they can over-ride the electronics.

My windows always get stuck open

This is a horrible feature on a car. I really don't know what they were thinking. Every morning, when I open the door, the window forces itself down, then it gets "frozen" in the open position??? I can't do nothing. I don't know if my window motors are super strong or something, but they force so much it seems like the window will shatter, but going up, they just give out after a split second. I need to literally wait until the car warms up enough to open the window all the way, then reset it. If I just go out for a few minutes, the window will be stuck open a few inches, and the car gets wet inside if it's raining or snowing.

I tried some silicon lube, and also de-icer, does nothing. So frustrating.

Mine need to be reset again this morning. I let the car warm up, then went to work. Suddenly got up to speed and heard nothing but wind noise... Looked at the buttons and saw them blinking. This is getting OLD having to reset them all the time. That you have to shut off the car and all that makes it inconvenient to get it done during traffic, so I'm always having to wait until I get to work 20 minutes later.

Last month it did it and I noticed right as I left home, so I said, "F this" and pulled over to reset it real quick. It's an insane feature at this point.

Mines been freezing every morning for the last 2 weeks or so. Its getting really old ans you cant always bring it down for a reset since its always dirty and icy to begin with. Id love to be able to cancel that feature...maybe ill just cancel the door switch...

the original impreza didn't have such a mechanism and there were zero issues during hard rain or cold winters

they really didnt have to bother re-engineering the damn thing

Is this "feature", electric sealing of the windows - progress?? Was this necessary years ago? There are plenty of older cars with frameless windows.

Clearly then...

the FR-S was designed to be an ~indoor~ car, never to be utilized in any harsh out-of-doors environment. <sarc> I have complied with the designers sentiment and have stored mine indoors after experiencing the ~windows from hell~ only once. Out comes the eminently winter competent FJ Cruiser...

thanks to all who posted the switch reset solution!
Now, Scion, snowball's in your court...

I doubt the switch will do anything... they need to find a lubricant for the internal mechanism that doesn't freeze.

I've yet to have issues with mine, but it gets parked "indoors" almost all the time. Truly indoors at home, and covered parking at work.

I've had it parked outside for full cold days and no issues though.
