I agree. If your drivetrain warranty is that important to you, then just drive it stock ... because that's what the warranty covers.

thats why you look for the msot realiable option out there.
running 430whp IS NOT reliable on a tiny engine with such high compression.

this is why I want to stay at 5psi.
correction: 7psi

-This is the only reasonably priced turbo kit I've seen probably EVER.
-AVO is known for quality and have been turboharging subies for ever.

If this AVO announces official pricing and it's under $3,600 I'm not kidding when I say I'll buy the kit before I even buy the car.

I'm watching you guys closely!
Agreed, and I leave to move (permanently) to the Redmond, WA (just outside of seattle) area tomorrow. Might have to have them install/tune a kit for me.

the more PSI the more crap you have to put into the car.
5PSI=everything stock is fine
14 psi=you need a clutch and hope the rods don't come out from the engine. you'll need bigger brakes.
20+psi= all types of forged internals maybe a new stronger tranny etc.

I'll add to your 14 psi, motor mounts, watch out for the rear axles, watch out for tranny long term and a lot of other small details that start to surface.

I say the TOP END for this car as far as reliability for 100K's of miles is 8 psi, or around 300 HP. To allow some margin, 5-6 psi should be great for long term reliability. Of coruse, this with a caveat that it all depends how much and in what way you use your car

Edit: Also, I believe after 8 psi you need bigger injectors. Anyways... I'll go with AVO as long as the price is right. I NEED to keep my car as stock as possible. Can't take much chances with my DD.

That's going to depend on which location you go to - Australian Shop, Japanese Shop, Thailand Shop, or USA Warehouse. The first three I can get you quotes on, the last one, well, we're warehouse/distribution/r&d/technical support. I've got some shops locally I work with closely that can install it, though. VTR in Everett, Drift Shop in Auburn, and a few more.

But this kit will be very DIY friendly. You are mainly looking at unbolting and removing the exhaust manifold, the primary cat section, and the inlet portion of the intake. The kit will be bolting into those areas.

i assume immediate ECU tuning will be required? how is that going to work with ecutek since it's not a physical item, such as a cobb accessport...no limp maps etc.

AVO stated earlier in the thread that you need to have the ECUTek license and cable (cable can be loaned from anyone) to be able to flash the map they are going to include with the Turbo Kit.

Check and check. Now hopefully their canned tune is good and doesn't have to be touched up too much.
