Turbo won't be bought until I feel the engine is reliable enough anyways. I don't want to jump the guy on turboing haha
I feel the same way Jay. IMO the avo kit is perfect. uel, great turbo placement, more then enough power at 10psi with great spooling. Just playing the waiting game to see how this engine holds up. And Drift Office is only 2-3 hours from us too which is a huge bonus. But I'm still open to the fa20 kit with uels too. Tony really seems to know his products well.

It's also pretty sweet we have the best gas in the continent up here too. I think with WMI we can come reeeaaalll close to e85 numbers.

That would be about sub 11PSI, IF 94 is truly 94. As mentioned earlier, that last batch of 94 I drove back with was worse than our US 92... But I'll be back to test that theory...

I guess my question is if I got a new set of forged pistons and rods
And lowered the compression to 8:5 or. 9:1 (that was I ran in my 93
Cobra 455 rwhp 458 rwtq with vortech waster colled kit 11psi).

Obviously I know in cubic inches aspect of things you can't compare the 2 but if if I where to get a set of lower compression internals so I could up the boost to get the torque where it should be could i still run the avo stage 2 kit.
That depends on what torque you are looking for. All of our testing has been on 92 octane, and we've reached around 260ft/lbs of torque on that. Being able to run 93 octane, or even better, e85 will allow for more timing, more torque.

We've just been concentrating on "street" tuning, what is available in daily driver, average environments. As we go along we'll experiment more with the higher power levels.

Nope ! Accelerated Performance quite awhile ago did, and I still think its the best way to go for track use/heat soak.

The advantage of running the turbo where we do is that, among other things, that area of the engine bay was already set up for heat (as it goes where the exhaust manifold is). It also keeps the COG low as well.

Only, I do believe, to run a bigger turbo on his personal car..(there's only so much room), I believe his original kits are still available out of the engine bay. That was a big selling point for my track car build, weight location and the heat that a turbo creates, specially in Texas, it also cleans up the engine bay, less clutter, and access to pulleys and belt is wide open, even more with airbox gone, its pretty sweet.

Nice! Did not know this.

I was once looking seriously into Don's kit but the lack of transparency and commitment to the forums turned me a stray.

I won't be going FI until at least next year. New car new kits lol seems too scary for me

Yep, AVO kit has a nice COG benefit vs top mounts and especially the innovate SC, that thing is damn heavy (intercooled version).
