I really want this intake. I'm running a Prova drop in filter right now.

I like the fact it uses the OEM piece where the MAF is, so we should still get consistant MAF readings with these parts.

This + Perrin Drop-in + AVO silcone elbow. :happy0180:

I know the price is going to be high though

$149 on a 'pretty' silicone elbow, I think thats where the scales tip

That would look nice but functionally I don't think it would benefit that much.

Replacing the entire unit with carbon fiber would not enhance performance at all. It would also increase cost exponentially. All those ridges, bends, resonator, etc., on the stock intake system have a purpose. The engineers that built the car put them there for a reason. And the fact that this particular intake keeps all (most) of the original equipment is why I think it is a great design.

This product just seems to be a glorified OEM intake though. I don't think I'd be able to justify the cost of it.

I agree that it will be expensive. I am sure we will have pricing information soon. But the design seems solid and hopefully one of the US vendors will make a more affordable model out of plastic or fiberglass. Are you listening US vendors?

The design is, in my mind, better than the greddy or afe and airraid because it takes out the snorkel and replaces it with a large scoop to increase cold air flow. You also get to keep your air straighteners and the rest of the important stuff that all the other intake manufactures simply take out. If it were black plastic it would also look completely stock to the untrained eye. This is why I disagree that it is a "glorified OEM intake."
