No, what I mean is maybe the FA20 is already built to handle high boost and high compression, since subaru already makes a turbodiesel block and knows how to do it. Not advocating changing blocks at all. We won't know till someone pulls the heads off of course. |

In regards to the FA20. Its pretty clear that there are going to be some challenges for tuners wanting upwards of 350hp+. Which makes sourcing a block that can easily achieve those power goals more cost effective. Quote:
Im not sure it comes with age, but once you have a taste of power the feeling becomes so adolescent, and eventually you want more precision. (well thats what iv witnessed among my peers and myself) So you either opt for a supercar that has both power and precision but at a higher cost or you opt for less power and precision for a lower cost. EG Miata I myself am happy getting 200hp coming from 400hp. As long as the car responds like the wheels itself are an extension of you the driver, like arms and legs.

In a car as light as the FRS, with what appears to be a very capable chassis based on all the great first reviews by a variety of sources, it would not take much increase in low end torque and hp to really add to the overall performance and goodness of this car.
This car is all about driving fun. More power does not negate that as long as the driving dynamics are not adversely affected. There is no such thing as too much power, me thinks

50-100hp would be nice when combined with the lowest-weighing model. I understand where you guys are coming from in regards to power not being everything but I think that a SC will only add to the driving experience of the car. I would spend money on a trd supercharger if the quality was there.
It's nice to have the power on tap, while not killing throttle response. IMO 275 hp would be the sweet spot. |

^^^ i think 275WHP is a nice place to be also, my Celica had a little more but it was FWD, first gear was useless even with 17x9 and 245 Bridgestone Potenza RE760s.
but again i might just be happy with the car stock for a year or two then start add more power.
