That would complement all of the whiners who were complaining about the FR-S after the press release!

Isn't Autocar the National Enquirer of automobiles in the UK or was it a different group?

i know yall are super excited about the s/c but there are a lot of cases where s/c's failed and toyota didn't warranty them. i am not saying don't get your hopes up i am just saying be wary the tc s/c was a vortech unit and it was utter shit.

Toyota uses Eaton now, and I've heard nothing but good things about Eaton.

Wonder why they wouldn't just use Subaru's resources, mainly their turbo. But whatever's best, I'm sure they know.

Since I'm currently having fun driving a car with 100hp, 200 seems like plenty to me.

go look up kenne bell cobra on youtube picture an FRS making that whine storming up on you. (ignore the sound after the cobra passes you) that sound will also get you laid. plus there are atmospheric BPV's you can use.

Most likely because the owner did a pulley, intercooler or intake system upgrade with no catch can allowing carbon and filter oil junk it up. Or they can tell by the tires in the front are bald to the rear = abuse. So many variables.

You know how much it cost Toyota for an Eaton M45/M62 unit? ~$300.. It'd cost you $1200 to replace.

You know how much a vortech unit cost a dealer? $~1400. It'd cost you $2200-2500 to replace.

I'd pick Eaton for price but I'd rather have a Vortech for efficiency, simplicity and bigger power.

I'll admit, I laughed, hard. If this car were close to 300hp, turbo, awd, I'd have my money sitting at a dealership right now for this.

But it seems Toyota is a little hurt by the "looks fast" and "sporty car not sports car" responses that have been all over the net. Well warranted. Glad they're stepping up their game finally. Though by time this car hits, the next-gen WRX which is becoming it's own entity is going to be coming about, so there's going to be severe competition.

And "turbo lag" isn't what it used to be, especially with more modern designs and smaller units.
