went back to 93 tune, even with the cold it always starts on the first crank for me. I have the ESC set to auto off, no other electrical mods. I did notice the cold causing my starter to sound weaker, but I'm still on the factory starter battery, so I should have enough reserve for multiple cranks if necessary.

I am also back on 93 octane for now - similar experience to what's described above. Cranked it and cranked it and the battery died, had to jump it to get it started. Switched back to 93 and it starts right up.

My thought is that I had e85 in my tank that was put in there when the weather was warmer, and maybe the local station had not yet switched over to the e60 (i think) for the colder weather. I suspect that if, after I finish this tank of 93, I could switch back again without the issues I'd been seeing recently.

When the weather turns "cold" I put 2 gallons of CA91 to 9 gallons of E85 and the car starts on the 1st or 2nd crank. If I try to start it on 100% e85 it could take several cranks above that. Add a lil pump gas to your e85 and you're golden.

The disconnected the wires to the battery, tightened the nut on the positive terminal down, and reconnected everything. Not very fun doing it in my complex's parking lot in the snowing 20F weather in the dark. The initial start up took 5-6 cranks and then started up. But it's usually the mornings after a long winter night where it wouldn't start up. So it's see how tomorrow morning goes.

If you've been driving around with a loose/poor connection, your battery may be in a low state of charge. It might take an hour of operation to get the battery to hold 12.8-12.9 VDC.

Also, this time of year you should be using the recommended 0w20 oil.

Out of curiosity. For those of you were the battery is failing, how long is your drive everyday. Time wise. Just wondering if it's not getting fully charged between runs. Even if this a problem, my name is staying on the waiting list. I was planing on taking off the supercharger in the winter. Would be nice to keep it all winter though.

There are some with issues and some with out. We are trying tofind out where the issue is. Maybe we should compile a list of devices. Also a voltage reading on the battery would help to see if there's a drain.

My drive is about 15 minutes to a meeting downtown. After 2-3 hours, drive 20 minutes back to office. May or may not go out for lunch. 4-5 hours later, 30 minute drive back home or to the gym, and if I do go to the gym, another 10 minutes to drive home after 1.5 hours of working out.

I'll be storing it for the winter in 4 weeks. Hope I can make it that long.

What is this "auto off" setting on the ESC? I must have missed something. I just use the switch on the meter to turn it off.

FYI, I left everything off last night and unhooked the sub. Temps are about 24 Degrees F right now, so it was probably high teens last night. Battery was pretty weak but it did start this morning. If it will keep doing that, I should be able to live with it as it doesn't get below the teens at night here more than 3 or 4 nights most winters.

I'm assuming the fuse that turns it off when you turn the car off

Car did not start this morning again. Home thermometer read 16F, but car read 20F.

I don't think it's a bad battery because I would leave my car untouched for 3-4 days during the summer on some weekends and it would still start up just fine.

Spoke to my friend who's an electrical engineer and he thinks it just the colder weather causing it to discharge at a faster rate. He's going to come over after work and measure the voltage. I'll also measure it tomorrow morning (and maybe throughout the night if I wake up) to see how much it drops.

Worst case scenario is that I go back to stock for the next several weeks until I store my car.
