Yeah, point taken. I keep forgetting those of us here are a niche group of a niche market.

Or as I prefer to think of the subforum, group therapy for trackheads.

Those look in the ballpark to me, 30-34 psi hot is what I've heard, maybe dropping 1-2 psi all around next time (TPMS light goes on around 26 psi) for a bit more grip. Camber will help you're probably still working the outside of the tires in the corners but that's a not insignificant upgrade. What's the car doing and what do you want it to do? You might be totally happy with that setup, in that case don't change it, maybe experiment with the knobs you feel comfortable turning to get some insight into how the car reacts.

@strat61caster I have had good success with the pressures that I provided. I'll see what I can do to dial it in at the track. I still don't know how the car is going to react, but it looks like I have a decent starting point. Thanks!

GSpeed was on a similar setup to you (less camber, but wider tires) and found 34 psi hot worked well:

After 20 minutes on track, front right tire was showing over 200F on outer shoulder and times dropped off by 1.5 to 2 seconds. Hot pressures were 34psi, which gave us a nice temperature gradient as measured by a probe in hot pits. Ambient temperature was 85F, track surface was 95F.

All in all, a very fast tire, but may drop off times under hard driving. Great tire for DD use and beginner DE users.
Just watch the outer shoulder tread wear. You may need to bump tire pressures if you're rolling onto the shoulder a lot.

Cool thanks! I'll keep an eye on the pressures and report back on Monday. Unfortunately, I don't have a tire probe to offer temperatures. Oh wells.

The track day at Street of Willow (CW) turned out really good. The car was great, and did everything I could've wanted it to. I'm familiar with the track, however this was my first time with the FRS. I learned more and more from every lap, every session, and spin out. Started off at 1:32.0 and managed to get it down to a 1:30.6 on the last laps of my last session. Car is bone stock with 225/45/17 RE71r, P.Mu Club Racer pads, and SPC Camber bolts. Thanks for all the help and advice guys!

Here are some bad iPhone pics (3rd from the top):

I thought the same thing after seeing the results.

I've never been one to just throw money at the car to make it faster. I like the less is more mentality when tracking a car. So much so that I'm a bit reluctant to change the suspension (coilovers) because I don't want to ruin a good thing. However, I do want to go faster. I guess my question would be:
Which would benefit me more, coilovers (budget $1,500 and down) or components such as lower control arms and top mounts for more camber?

What if you could do both? The problem is you will outgrow a lower end suspension at some point. I don't normally recommend them, but a closeout set of Tein Street Flex is an awesome deal, and includes camber plates. Add some SPL rear LCA (which you will not outgrow), and you'll be set for quite a while.

Remember, the 71R is stickier than slicks from just a few generations ago; you've already bought your lap time, to a degree, by using those tires.

I feel like I'm missing something. What's the big deal about driving nine laps on 71Rs?
