I'm right there with you. I was really excited when I got selected, but that feeling has definitely worn off. The longer Scion drags this out, the more frustrated people are going to get with them. I honestly think it will have an opposite effect from what they are hoping. I know they want to build buzz & excitement, and it did at first. But releasing the details so long after the contest is a mistake and I believe will lessen their desired results. I'll be surprised if more than half the first 86 winners actually get their cars, barring any special or exclusive package offered. A numbered plaque and getting the car a couple weeks early isn't that special.

Like someone said earlier, why should I provide free advertising for Scion with nothing real in return. If I do indeed get the car I'll just fly at night until the official release as to minimize showing the car off, just for the principle.

they really shoulda made the first 86 free, everytime i tell someone about the contest i have to word it so that i dont get that dumb look..

I've stopped calling it 'won a contest' i just say "i preordered a car, so i get it a couple weeks before you can buy it at the dealer" because thats basically all it is.

That's the reason why I didn't say anything to my friends. When you try to explain it to someone, they look at you like you're an idiot.

marketing fail by scion, word of mouth is now zipped mouth because its just not worth talking about...they prob didnt do the contest in japan because their consumers are smarter than us LOL dammit i fell for it!

Not to mention the fact that they only had 3000 people sign up was prob lackluster for them, so they WILL push the launch back further to do more marketing and hype it up...only people who lose are the folks on here who've been waiting and waiting

I can only speak for myself, but I have every intention of buying whichever xx/86 I have assuming things are as advertised, whether there's anything special associated with it or not. I've been watching it since they announced it like many on here, and it was in my sights so being able to get one sooner than later is just a bonus for me.

What would make me not buy it? Well, it will get the same lookover that any car I would be buying would get. The out the door price has to be right (not jacked up with fees), the car has to fit me, the drive has to be what I want, and the looks have to be what I expect. Since this will be my daily driver, I'm also concerned about gas mileage (some) and upkeep costs.

(That said, all that has to be an improvement over my daily driver now, which gets <20MPG and has almost 290K miles on it!)

Also, "The Boss" has to be willing to let it sleep in the garage with her '05 Mustang convertible that she loves more than me. <grin>

If you first 86 whiners...I mean winners are pissed then just drop off. There are plenty of people on the wait list. But come on people you are one of the first 86 FR-S. These will be special edition car for sure. Collectable! They could even number each car on the inside!!!!

Why would Scion release the price and options 4 to 6 months in advanced? You winners are going to get to order in about 1 month or so, you will get the price then. Just use deductive reasoning to figure that out.

We all know us common folks will get to buy the car around June. Y'all will get to drive the car in May. So that means y'all will get to order in march so you and everybody will know the price then. You can't place an order until the price is released!

It's only a month to go! Just be patient! You have a refundable deposit. What other car are you trying to get? The BRZ is even going to be harder to get....

PROCESS: 1) Sign and fax back to 310-381-6753, the "Scion First 86 Dealer Agreement" 2) The customer must come into your store by Monday, sign the "86 Vehicle Request and Deposit Agreement" below and give you a $500 deposit. Keep that form for your records. 3) The customer will have a "CONFIRMATION NUMBER" on their email from Scion. They must provide that to you and then you will email it to me by Monday afternoon. 4) Scion will take care of all notices and alerts to the customers after that.

There is an FAQ sheet below if you have any questions or please call me at any time.

Actually, they've already been "ordered". The paperwork was filled out and signed with an agreed "Price = MSRP" (or at least, that's what my price was).
