to the op

can I use simple green for step #6(engine bay, door jambs etc.) or will it damage the paint?

Also for the wheels, do I just spray simple green and use the dirty sponge in between the spokes and lug nuts?

Thanks for the guide I've recently purchased almost everything and I have never been this excited to wash a car hahaha

Any particular Glass Science you recommend? I've been trying to find a good glass cleaner (I'm a little OCD about streaks and such) for a while and came across this thread, but there's like 6 different kinds. Or are they all pretty good?

I've never tried it on the pain. It should be safe as it doesn't damage the clear coat on wheels, howeer I usually use Meg's #34 for those areas.

Wheels is simple green and MF (or terry will work in a pinch).

This one... (You don't have to buy it from Autogeek tho jfyi - amazon might be cheaper, shop around)

This thread is LONG… No hiding that, no TL;DR either… But it’ll pay off I promise… Read on…

If you have questions about products I suggest or waxing/polishing/compounding etc (I do all that stuff too), please don't hesitate to ask.

Tarminator because you can get it at Autozone, works GREAT, and cheaper than Chemical Guys/Poor Boy's stuff.

Pretty much spray on, let it dwell for a little, and then wipe/spray off. FAR better than RainX Bug & Tar Gel, which never seemed to work well at all.

Personal preference honestly.
Elaborate please or does this require a thread of its own?

Chemicals from the wax or car soap dont mix well in the sun. It is recommended to wash when sun is setting.

Also, if the water dries before you have a chance to dry it, it will cause water spotting on the car.

If it's a microfiber sponge (and I recommend that it is)... you put it in the washer with other MF towels and wash/dry it
