This is true for the most part, but it depends on what's going on with the car as a whole. If you watched the Chris Harris segment on the Porsche 962, they used the air coming in from the side to feed the tunnels of the diffuser.

Double diffuser is why Brawn won in '09 and why Red Bull are three time world champions, not four. If I recall correctly they were worth about a half a second a lap.

With a proper double diffuser, there's a lot more volume to generate downforce. The upper diffuser typically starts further forward, aiding aero balance as well.

Is it possible for those doing models and cfd to model the various hoods made by seibon to see if any if them would have the venting in the right places to help cool the engine?

Yes, but it is a complicated analysis. You would have to have the radiator/condenser set as porous medium at the least and that wouldn't take into effect the heat transfer from the engine and exiting the radiator. I could run an analysis with all the variables, but it won't be for a little while. It takes forever to setup properly (not as simple as a few clicks) and would take a while to analyse various hoods. Maybe after I am done with the single element wing analysis and finalizing its design, I will start setting something like this up. :happy0180:

AMB aero is pretty far along with this car. Not sure what his rates are but it's probably worth it if you want to make a significant amount of downforce

He'll probably have a body kit for the car at some point.

So are we and can help make significant aero improvements.

We're finalizing the design on our single element rear wing at the moment. We're also developing a dual element wing, but that's a bit more extensive. That's all we have in the aero pipeline... for now.

Since everyone loves colorful pictures

I have been working on finalizing a single element wing. Don't mind the crappy quality (screen shot) and the mounting isn't finalized. The swan neck mounts are just for representation right now (work in progress)

So Greddy has mad a convex cover for their exhaust, but wouldn't a concave cover actually make better downforce (negative lift) while maintaining low drag. It seems like a good way to make better traction in the back. Mounting would be a problem though.

A diffuser similar to what an elise has would be functional as well as just look downright awesome on this car. Mild yet awesome.
