It doesn't need to be lower than that for performance IMO.
Even for looks the lowest clearance on the car is already 4.9 inches on the lowest part of the exhaust... With this mild drop it would be under 4 inches of clearance.

Performance wise, this car will go from being dialed in to shit with much more than 1.5 inches i suspect.

Bump

Any updates RCE?

How's development coming? Lowering camber plates? 10mm? Springs 20mm?

Any concerns with steering geometry or anything?

We made a slight alteration to the rates for the fronts from the first protos but we are now just waiting for the full production run. We will have them early this summer.

250 lbs/in front
250 lbs/in rear

20mm drop front and rear.

Rates are mostly linear (i.e. linear at normal ride height).

We've maintained a very similar easily controlled balance of the OEM car with just a tiny bit more aggressiveness and eagerness to rotate. It is an absolute BEAST of a car...and then add a good alignment and mild swaybars and you forget about everything else you've ever driven. Very flat....low COG and light weight means you don't have to (and shouldn't) go nuts on spring rate. Feels good on the OEM tires and with stickier rubber. Those with r-comps will be happy but may be more interested in our coilovers. Motion ratio in the rear is around 0.75.

Replacement bumpstops included. Rates are VERY well matched to the OEM dampers...many will be surprised at the resulting feel. Very close to 65% critically damped throughout the range and definitely not underdamped. Stock is slightly overdamped. Very happy that Subaru gave us a great shock to work with.

I have the stock bump and droop travel numbers but not on me as I'm not in the office. IIRC around 6 inches total stroke up front, and maybe 2.5 to 3 inches bump (including bumpstop, so a little less). Will verify later. Either way, anything much more than an inch is in our opinion pushing it and will sacrifice ride and handling for looks. 20mm with our shortened bumpstops works very well.

In terms of bumpsteer others have alluded to the fact that it is not much of an issue up front at least for realistic ride heights....however the roll center begins to get ugly beyond an inch or 25mm. Roll center kit is recommended at that point. It's helpful with our springs but definitely not required. I'll post more on the roll center eventually but we've been talking to Whiteline and their RCA kit is coming.

We may do a more mild drop spring if there is interest as well, maybe 10mm or so. But for now we have been focused on these RCE Yellows.

Lowering camber plates are done, I need to check with Myles on when they're available for purchase.

Swaybar specs are just about set, but will have to wait til later in the summer.

Big write-up and press release coming soon, but couldn't hold it in any longer. We're still working on a few other things.

Will any stock wrx/sti swaybars, if any, work on the rear?

Rears will. But considering the weight and high CG of the WRX and STI, it's going to be huge on the BRZ. You'll want a bigger front to go with it, and those aren't swapable.

A wrx sway shouldnt be much more aggressive (at least I think) and I want to stiffen the rear slightly to promote a bit more tail happiness.

According to the internets a rear stock wrx sway from a new GR is 16mm. Not sure what the BRZ's is. Maybe 14mm?

Correct, the rear bars from 08+ Impreza's swap right in. Fronts are different.

I wouldn't go too crazy in the rear for sure without a matching front. One of the more mild OEM bars might be a good fit but it will depend on the rest of your set-up.

Agreed. I'm just looking for something mild to try out in the rear to see how it affects handling. Just as a simple first mod; something to tinker with while waiting for other stuff to come to the market. Anything big would most likely be dangerous.

I didn't realize these were Yellows, I've been calling the Blacks. Interesting.

Agreed and it's something we'll most likely play with ourselves on our car soon!

Yup, we went back and forth on that for a while. Just didn't think we would do anything lower than that as it's past what we consider to be useful (for a lowering spring, not coilovers).

For those that aren't familiar with us, we usually have 2 versions of our springs. The RCE Yellow springs are generally the larger drop, and the RCE Black (aka "Regular Guy") springs are a more mild drop.
