BRZ front DRL water condensation is caused by front plastic not aligned

Hi Everyone!

Well both my DRL lights been filled with water since the beginning of fall. I got my 2015 BRZ in April and as soon as it got really rainy it started to fog up.

I finally took a good look at them by taking them out. I thought I could remove a plug behind it and dry it out. You can't as it's sealed up.

I noticed that on both of them the front clear plastic lens is glued crooked. There isn't a good seal all around the front lens and that's where the water is getting in.

Going to take them to the dealer to have them replaced. I'm sure they are under warranty.

I have a feeling that something was wrong at the DRL factory and maybe yours is messed up like mine. Here are 2 images of them. Check yours before you warranty is over.

Mine are also fogged up. But my BRZ was involved in an accident, so it may be related to that. I will check that corner if it is sealed well, thanks!

just took a look at mine (2013) and they look similar to yours but have never fogged up. The clear glass is not mounted evenly with the black base and seems to be missing external sealant at the corner, but when I look inside the clear plastic I can see an internal seal.

Make sure you bring it to the dealer with the water inside so they can see the issue and replace yours. If they look dry when you go they will not take your word for it.

Mine are the same way and I have yet to go to the dealer and get them replaced or covered under warranty. It's annoying but hopefully I get to go soon

Hello, 2016 BRZ here. Same issue. Just noticed after we had a heavy rainstorm/lots of puddles.

Gonna schedule a Tuesday/Wednesday appointment with my dealership and update with results.

Update: Dealership is replacing them under warranty, there was no hassle at all.

Update 5/31/16: DRLs replaced, but now I have the driver side bumper/headlight gap people always talk about. Get to go back to the dealer tomorrow...
