Wheels drilled to fit M14?

Hello All,

Need thoughts/advice.

I’m looking at a set of wheels which have been drilled to accommodate M14 sized studs/bolts. Am I able to fit these wheels to my 86 which is M12? Obviously there will be a significant amount of clearance between the stud and the hole in the wheel, but my understanding is that all the clamping force will be on the taper (which are both 60 degrees) and that centre bore supports the wheel (which will centralise it). Is this acceptable to do or is it a no go? The only thing I can think of is the clamping area will be smaller on the taper as the hole is larger (losing 2mm) perhaps using wider nuts would compensate?

Thanks
Matt
