i don't like roof spoilers, or spoilers much. But he sounds like the know it all type of guy. Which bothers me more than those ricers. It's their money, not his. Damn ricer police.

I'm not going to bash someone's styling choices, but I've never understood the purpose of roof spoilers, especially on our car(s) for reasons the video discloses (which I thought were apparent) - especially since the angle of the rear windshield is almost the perfect angle (12 - 13 degrees) for drag reduction; this was intentional, and well designed; I personally would never put one on my car because of that (and because I imagine it would be a PITA to try to clean the windshield area under it).

Again, I'm not going to bash someone's styling choices, because I do enjoy seeing these sort of modifications on other cars, even if I wouldn't do that to my own, but I do hope that people who are putting on a roof spoiler are doing so for styling, and not because of utterly falsified information that manufacturers are trying to sell people about these "improving" aerodynamics, etc.

Pretty sure most people putting roof spoilers on are just doing it for looks and don't care about the aerodynamics anyway.

Someone actually smart! I applaud his efforts. He is right yes, but the way he comes across is as a douche, unfortunately.

Also, trying to convince ricers their mod isnt a good idea is like trying to sell a ford to a chevy guy.

As Mr Know-it-all says: if you choose to keep the roof spoiler, at least know what it's actually doing to the car.

If you like the look, then do it. If someone likes that it creates downforce, correct them.

Those that point downward make sense on hatchbacks, pickup trucks, minivans, etc. Anything with a square rear end. They help smooth the flow like an extended diffuser on our car, or a tiny kammback.

That's a completely different scenario, like it was mentioned in the video.

Yeah - like the video said, any sort of hatchback with a roof spoiler is essentially acting like a rear wing, or a rear spoiler since that's the end of the car on shorter vehicles, and hatchbacks; that also is apparent, but I was referring to deflecting the airflow over the back of the car as explained in the video.
