Sti or focus RS?

So I have a new job making a lot more$ I,love mr frs but had it for a while now and getting tired of it a bit, I considered going Fi but reliability is too much of a question so I figured I'd look at a new car. Stopped buy the local subie dealer and before I knew it I was in the finance office looking at a brand new sti. Only reason I didn't pull the trigger is I am really interested in the new rs, so should I go sti or rs? Opinions ?? Thoughts ?

Hard call to make this early since price, NA specs and even actual release dates are still pretty vague for the RS.
From what I have read to date the RS does sound very intriguing though and I for one will be checking them out when they finally get here.
Oh and 90% of the people here will default to the Sti anyway cuz' "Subaru Bruuuuh"

Given your forum name, why not a used Cayman? Or do you need the backseat? But between the two I figure the RS would be the better option. Resale value, power, exclusivity etc. Of course it comes at a price, but I would assume that if you are considering it, you can swing it.

I'd take a Golf R or GTI over an STI. I'd take a Fiesta ST over a Focus ST. Focus RS? A Fiesta ST will likely be more fun. Now an Audi TT RS would be seriously fast.

I like the STI, more aftermarket support in case you get bored.

You live in Texas and seem to have a thing for Porsches. Don't buy a practical, awd, sporty econobox, buy the fucking sports car you always wanted slightly used. $35,000 buys a nice used 911 or cayman.

Seems as though you already have a highly modified hatchback. why not either go FI or get another true sports car. If I were you I'd actually wait another 1.5 or so years and grab a higher milage 2015 Vette. I'd imagine they'd be around low-mid $40k by then

If the ST is any indicator, resale on the RS will be garbage. Ford seems to stuff the pipeline and heavily discount at the end of the model year. Heaven help anyone who paid sticker on an St3 package car when Ford is blowing out new ones at $7k off sticker 6 months later. The STI has a lot of faults, but they hold their value very, very well.

If you don't have kids, Cayman all the way.

Thanks for the feedback, as far as the Porsche goes I would love one, use to be a tech for them but right now I am a tech for Tesla and I don't have a shop locally to work on my own car plus I wouldn't have to time to do so even if I did. Given this I want something with a warranty and pre paid maintenance . As much as I hate letting someone else touch my car I just need something I can drive and forget.
