FR-S vs 2010 Prius

Ok so I've been driving the FR-S for about 600 miles now and I finally got back into my 2010 Prius to go somewhere as I needed cargo room. Here's initial reaction:

"Um, what the hell happened to my car? It's not running right at all. I press on the gas and it doesn't go. The steering doesn't respond at all. And what is with the cornering like a boat? Oh shit, yeah, it's not the FR-S."

And I realized just how nice the FR-S is. The 49 mpg for the Prius is double what I got in the FR-s (all in-town driving) of 25.6 mpg but the FR-S is far more than double the fun of driving.

Such is life.

I had a similar experience yesterday. I had an occasion to drive my son's 2002 Accord "Special Edition" which I had been driving a couple of weeks between my DD going into cardiac arrest and receiving the FR-S. After exclusively driving the FR-S for two weeks, the Accord felt like a barge! I couldn't believe how big it was.

I remember that, been saying that for years now. Too bad I drive like the devil's chasing me (cause I'm always running late ) or I'd get some decent fuel mileage.

That video is funny, but seriously try driving 65 mph on the hwy without accelerating constantly and see the MPG difference. My guess is the Prius will win by 2.5x or so mpg.

Still more harmful for the environment than a Land Rover. So all those hippies who think they're being good to the environment for using less gas, guess what: YOU AIN'T!

Try driving at ~35mph, the Prius I believe can hit 100 cruising like that if done correctly, while the BMW would probably struggle to hit 30. At 65 the Prius is working pretty hard already and so it loses a lot of its "gearing" + displacement advantage.

Top gear must always be taken with a grain of salt. They construct their tests to give the outcomes they want. But it's entertaining as hell, so I watch it all the time. Their Nissan Leaf and Peugeot Ion test was rather entertaining as well.
