To everyone who is a daily driver, drive safe this snow is starting to come down hard here in Northern VA, pretty sure its a lot worse up north. Be safe, drive safe.

Why? There were more AWD/4x4's in the ditch 2 nights ago then anything else.

I have no issues out here in my BRZ. But then again, I have good tires, and I know how to drive in this weather, and it's tons of fun!

Just because most people can't drive, and reacting to idiots is much more difficult when you have reduced traction. =) if empty, have fun. If full of traffic, I'd stay the heck away.

Once you are actually moving - AWD does very very little over FWD/RWD.

Steep hills can be a little sideways, but nothing major. Tires and driver make a big difference.

I have 2 AWD vehicles and the BRZ. The BRZ doesn't even have snow tires and I've never had any major issues. (I've drove in 6" of snow with summer tires even.. didn't get stuck.)

TBH, most of the problem people are the ones that buy a 4x4 truck (and leave it in 2wd) or AWD car and think they are invincible and just drive along like its dry road conditions.

True. I was spoiled at my last assignment. Although it was in the middle of nowhere, the biggest benefit was playing on my choice of 3 mountain passes with no traffic.
