Oil Sender Pre or Post Filter

Is the the oil sender switch before or after the filter on the fa 20 motor ?

Reason I'm curious is I'm putting an oil pressure gauge and an oil cooler in and was wondering if I can get a before and after reading of oil pressure with the cooler installed.
If the switch is in the pre filter position it'll be no go but if it is post filter I should be able to see if the oil cooler makes any difference to oil pressure or if anybody has already checked this out please post results.

Also is there any where else on the fa20 that is a better spot to tap into for an oil pressure pick up point so can still have the idiot light on the dash working without using a T piece where the original sender is ...

There is a spot on top of the motor in between the ac compressor and the intake. Pretty sure it's pre oil filter.

Thanks for that have checked it out and it is a pretty big gallery at that point so would be good to know for sure if it's pre or post filter.

Anyone used this spot to tap in for oil gauge with first hand experience ?
Would need to take that plug out and drill and tap it for the sensor but that's not a biggy.

Huh? Doesn't require drilling/tapping; you just need an Allen key to take the plug out.

There are even dedicated adapters so you can get the right thread to screw a sensor in.

Thanks for the pics Captain Snooze
Do you know if this position is pre or post filter?

Have already taken the plug out to check hence my previous post about the big gallery but wasn't aware adapters are available so will look into getting one otherwise I can just drill and tap the original.

I'm pretty sure the oil filter is the last thing oil sees before heading to the pan.

As a general rule, oil senders are after the filter (simply because the filter is the most likely failure in the system)

Maybe if the engine was running backwards... Filter is always the first thing the oil sees after the pump or it wouldn't make sense at all in the system.
