Determining spacers needed with springs?
Hey I was looking for a way to determine the size of spacers I would need to run with the wheels I have and springs I want to get but have been unsuccessful on finding a way to easily determine what I will need before I buy the springs.
Most things I have seen tell you to measure with the springs already on and such but I want to buy the springs and spacers and get them all put on in one go. I was originally going to go coilovers but after some great info from people on this form it seems like with only hitting the track 3 or 4 days a year springs will be a fine and cheaper solution. I recently put on my Enkei Kojin 17x9 +45 wheels with 225 +45 wheels (will be going to 245 next set) and I have slight rubbing up at full lock in the front. I plan to drop an 20mm front and back with springs and know without coils I will need more clearance. Is there a way to figure out the size of spacers I will need to run to not have any rubbing before buying the springs so I can get everyone installed in one go? Dont care about flushed look or anything, just want no rubbing on the perch so I can still track or autoX my car. Thanks! |

17x9 +35 seems like a popular choice.
I am going to say 10mm. For the amount you spend on spacers and springs (~300 a set), I would just use that money towards coils like st's or new tein z's or basis. You could also sell the stock suspension. |

8mm to clear, but i dont think ive ever seen an 8mm spacer. so get a 10mm spacer and everything will fit fine. get camber bolts for the front though otherwise the wheel/tire will poke out past the fender with stock camber settings. camber bolts are only like $45 or something new and if you're installing springs, theres no extra step necessary during install. $20-30 used.
