JDM Exhaust Tips question

I have purchased the JDM exhaust tips from japanparts.com. They aren't here yet, however I do have some concerns about the "stopper" that is on US cars that does not let you push the tip on far enough, causing it to stick out more than I'd like. Has anyone ground these "stoppers" down, and if so, how did you do it?

I can't really provide any more information on these... I'm hoping one of you will know what I'm talking about.

I ordered tips from japanparts as well.

After you remove the US tips you will see that the bolt bottoms out against a crushed part of the tail pipe.

When you install the jdm tips, push the bolt hole in the tip past that crushed part of the tail pipe. There are stoppers inside the new tips that will prevent it from being installed too far back. Tighten the bolt to the tail pipe. The location where the new bolt is tightened will not crush but is fully secure.

Thanks for the reply, seems simple. I'll be sure to do that.
