Bolster Wear on stock FR-S Seats

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows of way to help protect the side bolsters on the cloth FR-S seats. I ask because they seem to wear fast and would like to protect them for the long haul.

I was thinking that some sort of cover just for the bolsters would be cool, almost like a flap that would attach somewhere on the side of the seat (there may be a product like this already that I'm just not aware of yet).

I don't want to cover the whole seat with a seat cover, just looking for a way to proect the side bolsters.

Thanks!

Ouch. I'm always dodging them when I get out of the car like some parkour gorilla jump, just so I don't damage the bolsters. I also teach this to anyone preparing to ride in the car. hah.

Thanks for the input, but I'm actually only 150lbs and get in the car just fine. I'm more so referring to the passenger side. But again, thanks for being worthless and adding worthless information to this thread.

I do the same thing lol. I put my left hand on the bottom of the door entry and sorta roll/jump out. So I'm more so referring to the passenger side when people new don't really know what they are doing. Even if you tell people how to get in/out of the car, they still aren't perfect. So, having a little flap to protect the bolster cloth would be clutch. I may just end up putting something together myself.

This. Also their feet hitting & scuffing the raised black door sil/entry, and unsnapping the seat belt strap's snap when they put on the seatbelt, etc. Comon people.

My drivers bolster is wearing just from getting in and out of a lowered car. I'm not overweight either. My expectation is that once I get to a point where Im worried about the wear on the bolster I'll just replace the seat with a Bride/Sparco etc.

Probably will cost the same or less to just buy a used seat in 5-10 years if it really wears that bad...

I'll agree with you on this one...but more the grilled, baked, broiled versions versus fried.

Very true - fried anything is going to be less healthy than alternative methods of cooking. However, fried WILL taste better. So it's a trade off, just like everything else in life.

So any who, anybody else have any suggestions? I'm thinking I may have to go the homemade route. Thanks!

Once the stock seats start to wear out, replace it with a steel foldable chair. You could use it on picnics, folded up it becomes a air guitar instrument, or in tough times it's even a weapon.
