2017 BRZ (White on White) 17 x 8 +42

Always loved the look of white wheels on a white car, so when I got my new BRZ, it had to happen. I was determined not to get into modding but couldn't resist the wheels.
There was no way I was going to spend a lot of money or sacrifice performance JUST for looks. So, the wheels had to be good value, substantially lighter than stock AND look good.
Rota Titan 17"x8" +42 in white, with the stock tyres, fitted my requirements perfectly. Saved almost 2kg off each corner of, unsprung, rotational weight! I'll get grippier tyres later but probably in the stock size to maintain the weight savings.
I also love the look of the Titans - kinda rally car look rather than race car look, which I prefer. Also added the mud flaps for that reason.
Oh... to all the slammers that are going to lambast me - don't bother, I'm NOT going to lowwer it!

There was a very interesting test done by a group of race enthusiasts recently, to determine the effects of wider wheels and tyres on performance. They showed that, all other things being equal, going to wider wheels and tyres ALWAYS produce slower times around a tack, and the wider you went, the slower the times. The only improvement they got was when they used grippier tyres (of the standard size) on the standard wheels.
Interestingly, even wider wheels/tyres that were the same weight as the standard ones, produced slightly slower times. They put that down to the extra road/tyre friction created by the wider tyres.
I guess it's a bit like the boy racers that put huge wings on their stock engined cars - they are trying to make their cars look fast but actually slowing them down.

Why do your tires look so stretched?

They're a little stretched - 215s on 8"... or maybe a fair bit, but it is acceptable by most tyre experts and a bit of stretch has the effect of reducing the profile/diam and improving acceleration.
