AT overheat safeguard? Tracking the Auto Transmission.

I've been tracking my car a lot lately and I noticed that if the oil temps get to a certain degree, (around 115-130C) the transmission seems to shift more softly, kind of like you babied the clutch on a manual car.
I always use the M mode, when the car is in a lower temp the converter locks up more forcefully. Also, the tranny will shift by itself when hot when you reach redline, compared to bouncing the limiter when cooler also.
Anybody else using an AT on the track experience this? Is it time for an AT cooler?

Do you already have an oil cooler? If so, which one?

No oil cooler yet. I'm installing a supercharger hopefully by next month and will install the oil cooler, radiator, and if needed, transmission cooler.

I have noticed the softer shifting. But never once experienced the car shifting up by itself in manual mode. Any video?

You need to get an oil cooler even if it isn't your problem. If you're on the track play it safe keep it cool.

Sorry no video. When my car does it, it shifts softly and shifts by itself when you reach redline.

If i'm correct (And i never am), the auto has a safety feature in M mode that if you go to redline and stay at it for a longer time then need be it'll shift it self so you don't do any damage or go past redline (Which isn't possible really, it'll shift it self).

But i might be wrong.

I can vouch that it doesn't happen 5 seconds> At redline, not sure after that
