drive to Solvang, CA from LA via PCH

I planned to go to Santa Barbara on Independence Day with my new car. To make things interesting, I decided to get there via Pacific Coast Highway.

The view was amazing, and after some traffic near Malibu, the drive was awesome.

When I got to Santa Barbara, there were just way too many people for me to stay around. So, I drove my car up to Solvang.

I was little scared driving my car up to mountain, because of I am a noob. But it ended up being so fun.

Many people checked out my car. Some came up to me and asked questions. You know the usual, "how fast is it? how fun is it? dang, it's only 28K? is this the Subaru one? why did you get this one instead of Scion? what are you going to do to it? etc"

There were plenty of people in Solvang to see the fireworks. I found group of people hanging out near the outskirt of town, figured they are waiting for fireworks too.

Instead of paying $10 for 'prime' seating, I joined locals and enjoyed the free show.

Though I took my camera with me, I ended up not taking that many photos.
I had ton of fun, just driving my car around and enjoying the sight.

I go to college in the SB area, and I've taken PCH route up to SB. Beautiful drive, and the drive up to Solvang through the mountain roads and highways are magnificent and not to mention fun. I definitely get a lot of stares as I pull up in SB gas stations (:

Nice! My gf & I drove from LA to SF via PCH and one of our stops was Solvang. Neat place! Loved the area. The PCH drive alone makes me want to move to CA.
