i just picked up a set of powdercoated 18x8 et35 oz racing superleggera rims. today i got them mounted and balanced on 245 35 18 dunlop tires just to get me started. now im a little worried to lower the car because i think it is too close to the out side of the fender... let me know what you guys think. imterested in the eibach sportlines just so you guys know what im planning

As soon as you lower it you will have enough camber where it won't matter

thanks. i found these for 200 bucks. so wait how will i have camber once i lower it? i thought you needed coilovers for camber?

No you don't need coilovers for camber. As soon as you add springs depending on the drop you will have what people refer to now as "natural camber". Your wheels will tilt up top as soon as you change the suspension geometry.

The geometry of the suspension will cause the top of the tire to tilt inward as it's compressed through it's range (adds negative camber). It's typical, as the body leans in a fast turn, the added camber helps keep the contact patch more square instead of rolling onto the tire's shoulder. In other words, the wheel's path doesn't travel straight up and down, it's a slight inward arc.

I'm not a huge slammed suspension guru, but it doesn't seem like you'd have any real issues if you lowered moderately. The wheel will still follow the same arc when you hit a bump or dip. Worst case you might need to roll the fender. Personally I wouldn't slam it, maybe an inch or so, but that's preference.

BTW nice tire in the front seat, lol...

Good to know thanks. Ill be looking into the eibach springs and the megan racing (they say the springs drop the car 1.75 inches.)

yeah im not looking to slam it. Im moving back to ny in a few months and the roads wont be to king to my car. Based on how it looks now I might just do an inch and leave it at that for now.

And yeah i had just gotten back from the tire shop haha those are the stock ones inside. Needless to say I need to vacuum the interior now. I gots treadmarks in my car

Ill be looking into the eibach springs and the megan racing (they say the springs drop the car 1.75 inches.)
