Skene Design Front License Plate Mount

FYI,

For those that don't want to drill big holes in the bumper for the factory front mount license plate kit, and don't like the off-center look of the tow-hook solution, check out http://skenedesign.com/FPBracket/index.shtml

You still have to drill two small holes on the bottom surface of either the lip or the mustache, but they're small and out of sight.

I attached mine to the bottom of the mustache, and can either hang the plate down covering the mouth of the grill, slide it up to leave the mouth completely open, or adjust it somewhere in between for a clean look.

I'm in Vegas this week so I can't take any pictures as the car is in NY, but anyone interested, you want to get the Medium bracket size which fits perfectly. I can get pictures up next weekend for anyone that wants a visual.

Here are the pics:

Is there anything on the back of the bracket to prevent it from scuffing the bumper when being pushed by the wind resistance driving or a tap by an idiot backing up?

No problem! I actually put this up in November but I don't think it got a lot of attention.

Yep, it comes with clear rubber feet that you stick on to the back of the brackets at the point you think it'll touch your car.

That Skene Design looks pretty nice. I like how it's so thin, but it's a bit pricey at $56 shipped.

It's basically mounted in the exact spot I mounted my custom one. I spent about $12 in parts to make mine.

I'm attaching a photo I have of the back of the license plate mount(which you'll never see). I used an old license plate for fitting purposes, until I get my real ones.

I bought the license plate backing from Pep Boys for $8.99, metal brackets from Home Depot for $1.29, and screws/washers for $1.75. I used very small screws and washers to join the "L" brackets to the license plate frame backing. Then I epoxy'd over the screws and brackets to make everything super secure. I layered some electrical tape onto the bent L brackets (not pictured) to help prevent against any scratching where the L bracket and the underside of the mustache meet.
