does jdm rear fog lamp. work plug and play?

I was wondering if anyone knows with the jdm rear fog light is it plug and play. Or if it can be mod to work. My dad drove my car and he back it onto a parking spot and touched the reflector. Hence the reflector is now cracked. I have a family member coming from the islands that can get me a jdm. If not ill have to go to the dealership and get a new one. But im scared to find the price. If anyone has one for sale please lmk.

Thanks, chris

I don't believe USDM cars are wired for it. Plenty of custom mods on here.

Anyone know the part number for the bit of harness that we need, I'd like to do this modification but I want to do it OEM. Stalk, harness and new reflector.

Fairly easy install just drill out the small plastic piece where a bulb would go and place in a led bulb and tap into the brake light and the light will stay on as long as the headlight/parking lights are on.

It's not that simple. The wiring isn't installed in our cars. If you want to do it as close to OEM as possible you'll need: a stalk (w/rr fog light sitch), wiring with pins for the stalk and ECU, relays to put in the fuse box, and schematics on where the wiring goes to/from the ECU. The last part is the PITA to get. I've tried but have been unsuccessful to get the wiring diagrams for EDM or JDM rear fog light. If you're able to get them I may be able to help you.

I'm going to chase down doing this properly at some point, probably by utilizing some friends/acquaintances in Europe. I'm not interested in doing it unless I can do it right.

Im with you on that. It just seems to expensive for such a simple mod.

Here's a link to a DIY thread is started regarding the auto headlight and rear foglight features. Post #39 has how the car needs to be wired for the rear foglight to function. Good luck!

I bought the 4th brake light kit/rear fog kit from Phastek, was about $70, and cost me $48 to have a mod shop install it today and it is AWESOME. Favorite thing I have done to my BRZ

@kmbkk, I've seen you post in other threads about getting the rear fog operational the OEM way. I am inspired to get this working on my BRZ at whatever costs, here's my contribution if you haven't already found the EDM/JDM electric wiring manual. The references are throughout the PDF but the wiring diagram is on page 218.

Thanks! I recently found that but didn't post it here, so I appreciate you putting it here. I think the total cost to get the rear fog working should e less than $150. I plan to tackle this, along with the auto headlight feature once I return from deployment. The only thing I haven't figured out for sure is where to get the ECU pins. I contacted Tweak'd Performance but they haven't really seemed to care to help.
