whats good lowering springs for frs?
wondering if anyone know which brand of lowering springs is good for our frs?

Eibachs are what I would go with. Either the Prokit or the Sportlines.
Sportlines for more of a drop! |

depends on the purpose you are lowering the frs for. Is it for looks or performance?

Go coils and save you hassel of going through springs than coils.
Everyone I know buys springs because they are "cheaper" but months later they end up buying coils and trying to sell their springs for next to nothing. BC Coil Overs are decent, close to $1,000. Good for DD and random track sessions.

I'm thinking the RCE yellows for mine, though for looks primarily. I don't want to deal with the hassles of having to get coilovers rebuilt every so many miles, especially as I do 40k/per year. I have also 'heard' that coilovers don't take well to the salt that gets spread around over the winter.
If it was a summer only car then I might consider coilovers.

Any springs are fine really. Just depends on the amount of drop you want. Esp if its a daily driver. Coilovers for our harsh salty Canadian winters are not a great idea. Especially if you're not targeting an extremely low ride or track days.
Although, even for those who are considering tracking their FRS's, I'd caution that the stock damper is extremely well suited the the vehicle. Not only that - but most coilovers are garbage when it comes to handling performance: proper digressive curves + blowoff valves + enough oil or gas volume to truly control the damper well. If you're going coilover - the purpose is track-performance - and thus, you should grab a properly tuned damper that is proven on the track to provide improved wheel control: Penske's, Ohlin's, MOTONs, Motion Controls, JRZ's, AST's, KW's to name a few of the brands you'd want to stick with.

If you want a bit lower and good performance I would go with RCE Yellows or Sprint. I'm leaning towards the Sprint BRZ rates.

I'd get sportlines, I had them on 2010 Genesis and i loved the Look, the ride was stiff but nothing you don't get used to over time...
