Ordering a BRZ - Accessories questions
I have a few questions about Accessories.
STI Short throw shifter - is this worth the extra money, are the shifts more crisp? STI Flexible V-Bar - Does this make the car corner better, reduce interior noise? Trunk Spoiler - I can only find one picture of this online, I see lots of aftermarket ones. How does it look? Also the BRZ had 3.91 gearing while the GR86 has 4.10s How do you BRZ people like the 3.91 gearing? |

Tj hunt has a video on installing on STI accessories. TLDR: short throw shifter has a different shift feel but the throws arent all that noticeably shorter (they said the throws are only 6mm shorter).
Personally not a fan of the STI spoiler. The toyota ducktail spoiler looks much better |

Short throw shifter is OK, nothing to call home about. If Billetworkz takes care of the rattle issue, its a much nicer option.
V Bar is more aesthetic than functional. It does a little, but its almost imperceptable. Trunk Spoiler isn't my jam. To each their own though. I think you're getting final drive ratios mixed up. The AT is 3.9, MT is 4.1. No difference from BRZ to GR86 |

I just picked up my BRZ with the short throw shifter and am pretty happy with it. Very short throws and feels closer to the shifts in my Miata.

I got short throw shifter from factory, it would have cost me more to get installed and I wasn't going to tinker car for at least first year.
I installed v bar and didn't find any difference. I thought they would make ride a little better but nothing too noticable. May be if I put original back, I would notice something. Spoiler is just asthetic, so waste of money for me. Manual has shorter final drive while auto has larger. I think 3.9 and 4.1 are in reference to those. |

I did the short throw shift just since it would be installed when it arrived. Is it a huge difference? No. But I also don't need to cut half a tenth off each shift when running to go pick up a 6-pack and introduce a bunch of vibrations and extra noise into the cabin.
The Subaru spoiler is fugly IMHO. That's why I ordered the GR one to put on my car.

Just a heads up not all the accessories will come on your build. My original build had the short shifter, V brace and spoiler. When it arrived it only had the short shifter. I was relieved that the spoiler didn't come, its not my cup of tea now that pictures came out.

I think they raised the price for accessories. I was going to order the front lip kit from Subaru and the price went from $400 to $480 before the 15% discount.
