Wheel fitment help
Hello, I recently got some rims size 18x9.5 with an offset of +35 and they were too wide that they’d hit the spring. There is very little clearance, maybe even no clearance, I couldn’t really mount the tires so it was hard to tell. My question is what’s the best size and offset for a good 18inch rim fitment ? I’m on stock suspension btw I don’t really mind a poke on the front , as long as there is no rubbing. I’m currently seeing if I can return the wheels and get new ones

It depends on what tire size you want to run as well.
225/40/18 or 245/35/18 on a 18x8 ET35 would give the same suspension clearance as the stock 17" setup and be flush or stick out slightly. You could certainly go with an ET40 offset (12mm of clearance) and possibly ET45, but that one would be getting tighter at 7mm of clearance. I have no idea how tight of clearances people run on these. If I was running 18" one of the ET35 options are what I would likely opt for. I am running ET35 but on 17" wheels.

Yes, with that width you would need more offset (or less depending on how you look at it).
I'm still new to these cars, but dealt with offset planning quite a bit on my previous car, but it looks to me like you would want around +25mm of offset to have clearance with some extra margin (8mm). Technically 30mm would still have 3mm of clearance, but as I said before I don't know how tight you can safely run this on these cars. But running these you would end up with some definite poke on the tires. So if you are good with that you could always go with a 10mm wheel spacer. But again I am not familiar enough with these cars yet to say how that would work out.

It might be worth spending the small price for the Wheel-it-Fit tool (https://wheel-it-fit.com/).

I believe the wheels you bought would fit with coilovers…

I'd look at this first before you buy another set: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7535

8.5x38 would be fine
![]() If you didn’t want poke at the front, can confirm 8.5 ET44 clears stock struts with 255/35s. |
