Body/Fender Extension Lip

Hi all,

I have been looking far and wide for a set of fender extension lips for my brz as i am looking to purchase some bigger and wider tyres which poke outside of my fenders.

I know there are the TRD lips, but how can you reason $500 for a few bits of plastic, i understand the TRD clout but why $500?

Does anyone have a solution for this or has anyone figured a way to extend the lips slightly? keeping in mind the side marker is also in the way.

Could i just run a piece of black plastic along the inside of the wheelarch to protrude slightly and call it a day?

Cheers

Seem to make lot of sense on several accounts.
- will reduce incentive to overlower past reasonable car suspension to reduce "gap"
- with such imho flimsy sidemarkers will be kept in place more securely.
