Arrow Battery terminal covers

My very first post. I've owned my 2017 BRZ for less than a week!
I noticed what looks like a battery terminal cover that had fallen down in the corner of the battery tray. Where does this go? Do either of the battery terminals come stock from the factory? Hopefully the picture will show up here.

Send pictures of what the factory battery should look like.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome.
Read your manual if you have it. If not google it. It would provide useful information you need to know about your new car.

Also battery covers are red and are on the positive side of the battery. If that is what fell down then just put it back. Just google image any BRZ engine bay.

Also FYI in order to post pics you need to have them hosted via third party site like Flickr or such.

Yes that red plastic thing is your positive battery cover.
The way it's sitting, it's upside down.
The longest part of the cover goes in front of your battery.
You many have to wiggle it into snap it back in place. That amp cable might get in the way. But just tell it "you're a naughty boy" and shove it in with force.

Have you ever tried clicking on the paper clip and just uploading a picture? It works well. It's how I posted the screenshot below. Not sure if a new member can do it right away, maybe need to make a few basic posts first.

You sometimes have to click on the "Advanced" tab of the post to get the paperclip. It doesn't show up in a basic "quick reply" post.

I'm still wondering if the OP has retrieved said item and managed to install it on the correct terminal.. Or has he broken it trying to fix to something else??

I think the cover for the "positive" terminal may come under the "worst design ever" because once installed you can't see the terminal!!

I think the former owner added some wiring for his subwoofer. That may be what is making it difficult to seat the terminal cover. The cover doesn't want to fit over the area of the black tape just above the red insulation. I can force it to clip but it won't stay put. If I can determine which wire he added maybe I can remove it. That's why I was asking for a picture for comparing the stock wiring on the positive terminal. Thanks again.

Thanks for the tip on paperclip attachment photos!

This can be your very first mod... Cut red cap to fit around additional cables...

The red wire is not stock. Does the cable have sufficient length to move it to the clamp bolt?
The cover might fit better then.

Why are you so desperate to fit the cover? My cover usually spends more time in the door cubby hole..

Won't pass tech for basically any motorsports event without one.. slightly less likely to cause a fire in the case of an accident (ground to firewall/etc) is another.
