Running with a stock spare?
Pardon the ignorance guys, as i have no experience getting aftermarket wheels flat all my life.
I recently bit the bullet and bought TWS T66Fs in 17x8 +42. Say I get a flat on a road trip, is it safe to replace any of the flats with the stock 17x7 rim and drive it? What damage or risks do i run doing so? What am i exactly supposed to do in such situations? Thanks |

I have no spare.. just gloop! Space savers are pretty common, they are usually smaller than what is on the car, speed restrictions usually apply. The spare is used to get you to a tyre fitter..

Ensure you put the spare on the front.
Different diameter wheels can/will/may screw your torsen diff. Have a look at the tirerack website to find the diameters. Google about using a spare with a limited slip diff. As for goop, it can screw your tyre, plus useless if you hole your tyres sidewall. As for space savers, fine if you are local, but, when you are 300km from home, on a Sunday arvo, a space saver is a pain in the arse. I am a advocate for full sized spares when on the street.

It will be the same diameter.
My 17x8 will be on 215/45/17 or 225/45/17 albeit much grippier tires. What i worry about is thaat will running one 17 x 7 (OEM grip) and 17 x 8 (Grippy tires) in front be dangerous for highway trips back to any nearby tire repair shop? |

Read your manual regarding flat tires. If you ever have a flat tire on the rear you'll need to put the front wheel on the rear and the spare on the front.
Oh and holy flying cows Batman! You ask about using a spare tire? LoL.
