2013 Scion frs speed sensor/codes

Ok first time on any site like this so please bare with me. Is " Bus A" a location on the car and if so which wheel is it located? I was told the speed sensor might be the cause of a lot of the things going on with it. It's hoovering around 4k going 55 also have Abs, Trac control, and the engine light on. Any help would be appreciated!

My guess is that you have a wire broken/loose/off someplace.


The buss is part of the communication system for the computer and something has interrupted it's ability to tie everything together.


Your reader shows 10 codes. What are the others?


Code P0717 is triggered when the transmission's Input Speed Sensor isn't providing a signal. This is a critical problem because with out this signal, the Transmission Contorl Module or TCM can't properly shift the vehicle from gear to gear as the vehicle needs to change speed and rates of acceleration


P0700 Subaru Description. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transmission control. When the TCM detects a malfunction with the control, a signal is send to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to trigger the Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light.

They repeat on my scanner, one other code is that it's running too lean. The only electrical things I've done to the car is the head lights and the radio. I've replaced the O2 sensor and checked for exhuast leaks and there was nothing suspicious. I also have to reset the computer to be able to scan it. Another thing is I had my cam replaced by the dealer but after the job was done I continued to get the Trac control and engine light coming on from time to time

Well those three are all communication issues so it could be in the tranny control unit itself but I am still thinking a wire off someplace. The TCM is up under the dash very close to the radio so you may have loosened something when in there. I am afraid I don't know a pile about the ATs but no doubt somebody that knows more will come along.
If you want to check the connection the service manual has some info on it. The speed sensor is also shown in the tranny section.

I found out it was a sensor on the top right of the trans that was unplugged! That fixed the abs issue also gonna need help with another issue that's been going on. I found this sensor that was broken off in the pics shown and I have no clue what it is??? . I haven't explored this area ever so I'm pretty sure the dealer I took it too purposely caused this issue to bring me back lol almost certain they did lol. But I feel like I'm getting closer to ending my check engine light please let me know what exactly this sensor is, thank you

It would help if you could tell us where you removed that part from (can't tell from the pictures). It's easier to see where the part should fit, rather than to see it out of context.

I'm pretty sure that's the actuator for cam timing.
