Clutch Type LSD, who has made the switch?

I have been doing lots of research about clutch type LSD's and I'm wondering if people here have made the switch and to what brands?

It's not in yet... but it will be an MFactory 1.5/2 way. Getting the plates WPC treated, dropping initial torque in half and putting lock capacity to 83%

EDIT: Did you get the Supra diff in yet?

My Supra LSD should be in this week, just need to find some marking compound to set the ring back in, seem to have misplaced mine.

I bought the GM stuff (it's yellow) from Amazon ([ame="http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Fluid-1052351-Marking-Compound/dp/B00BK7MFC8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1443455911&sr=8-1&keywords=gm+marking+compound"]THIS[/ame]) and a dial in-lb torque wrench to measure pre-load.

Check out the suspension subforum. Many have, but a lot of them don't post on this board. I can probably answer any questions you have.

Just looking for people experiences and opinions.

Im not a track junkie or anything but feel upgrading from the Torsen would benefit me. With my current suspension I find the inside wheel will get light enough to trigger the traction control a little to easily. I could adjust this in the suspension but I really really like it right now so I want to cure this with a clutch type LSD.

Also spinning a wheel when trying to get in a driveway gets old.

I'm going to use traction control activation as something of a test with my new Supra LSD, I find this point can be reached on the street a little more responsibly.

Have OS Giken on my car now.

If you do not like noise, you will not want to go to a true mechanical LSD.

Also, keep in mind that you will need to change the diff oil often. The intervals will be dictated by the driving but expect to change it every 5-10k miles.

Analogy. I have (atm) big anti roll bars front and rear. When one side at the front hits a bump I can feel the other wheel being affected. The new diff is like uncoupling the heavy sway bar. I do not mean that literally, it is an lsd after all, but the operation of the lsd has made the slipping inside wheel more natural?,normal? more unbiased? free to operate unsullied by the other side? Mmmm... Hard to explain.

Let me try another way.
There is a large round-a-bout near home I know quite well. When exiting there is a small bump on the inside of the curve. There used to be a weird sway oscillation which I'm guessing is the rear inside wheel tightening and loosening but now when I hit that bump the car feel more stable. That is, there isn't the same "swaying of the hips" at the rear.

Yeah Gikens (esp in Spec S trim) should be silent. The two that I have owned (only one currently owned) have driven/sounded like open diffs. At least if you're using the OS fluid.

Even the stock Torsen makes noise in certain tight turns, especially in parking lots. Aftermarket clutch-type diffs do the same but with much louder clunks.

That's what I am mostly referring to. Normal driving has no impact unless I dump the clutch or accelerate while turning aggressively.

I am a huge OSG cheerleader.

They work when you want them to and aren't obtrusive otherwise.
